1. Discuss the NIH recommendations for acceptable referral for bariatric surgery and the family physician’s role in preparing their patients for appropriate referral to the Bariatric Surgery Center. 
2. Specify ongoing monitoring parameters, nutritional supplementation regimens, and contraceptive strategies for patients who have undergone a bariatric procedure for extreme obesity.
3. Identify your health care team necessary for bariatric surgery patient follow-up and management.
