Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Utilize appropriate diagnostic criteria to evaluate and screen patients for depression, anxiety, and phobias.

2. Devise collaborative treatment plans for depression that take into account severity, suicidality, developmental stage, and environmental and social factors.

3. Recognize the risks associated with certain drugs used to treat depression and mood disorders, and know which carry REMS and black box warnings about suicide.
