Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Counsel patients on preventive measures they can take to avoid developing osteoporosis.

2. Describe methods to assess extent of osteoporosis and their reliability (sensitivity and specificity) and cost effectiveness.

3. Treat and educate patients with clinical osteopenia to prevent associated complications:  fracture and progression to osteoporosis, and other comorbidities.
