Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Describe the normal cardiac anatomy and physiology, and normal electrical conduction through the heart.
2. Recognize various dysrhythmias on EKG and relate cause, symptoms, and treatment.
3. Apply basic EKG interpretation skills to advanced rhythms including heart block, tachyarrhythmias, and rhythms in cardiac arrest.
4. Discuss clinical management of patients experiencing abnormal EKG rhythms.
