Learning Objectives

1. Identify the symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis and know the other conditions these symptoms can mimic.
2. Analyze the symptoms of patients in whom MS is suspected to determine when further testing, such as an MRI scan, may be necessary.
3. Help MS patients formulate a treatment plan to manage symptoms and prevent relapses, including medications, physical therapy and support groups when necessary.
4. Recognize and help patients to manage potentially harmful side effects of medications used for MS treatment.
