Learning Objectives

1. Utilize diagnostic guidelines and decision-making criteria, including the Pediatric Assessment Triangle, to make a prompt diagnosis and develop appropriate management plans for pediatric patients
2. Evaluate pediatric fever in order to identify those at high risk for serious bacterial illness
3. Evaluate and manage pediatric airway emergencies, including foreign body aspiration and croup
4. Discuss difficulties in the interpretation of vital signs in children compared with adults
