Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Evaluate and treat the symptoms of PCS/TBI to prevent permanent brain damage
2. Quickly assess the severity of a brain injury presented to the emergency room (e.g., Glasgow Coma Scale).
3. Identify signs and symptoms of PCS/TBI even when classic signs and symptoms are absent.
4. Utilize return to play guidelines for evaluating athletes with PCS, provide guidance to others involved in the athlete’s treatment and training.
