1. Explain the potential health impact associated with chronic insomnia. 
2. Outline the key components of cognitive behavior therapy for chronic insomnia.
3. Counsel patients on supplemental activities that may improve sleep quality. 
4. Identify adjunct medications that may be considered safe to use in older adults for treatment of insomnia that does not respond to CBT and other nonpharmacologic techniques.
