Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Select appropriate evidence-based, validated screening tools to apply to differing patient populations.

2. Screen pregnant and postpartum women for peripartum depression.

3. Identify appropriate primary care management for patients diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety, and indications for referral.

4. Examine the collaborative care model as a strategy to manage patients with depression and/or anxiety.

5. Explain required coding and documentation needed to ensure proper payment for screening and management of depression.
