Upon completion of this session, you should be able to:

1. Create a plan of action to integrate the 6 evidence-based clinical practice recommendations as described in the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Expert Panel 3 Guidelines. 

2. Identify targeted treatment options for patients with severe asthma. 

3. Coordinate confirmation of asthma diagnosis for patients with difficult-to-treat asthma, including thorough review of barriers to treatment adherence.

4. Discuss possible strategies to increase patient utilization of asthma action plans.
